ACTION PLANM.S. 118 - Joe Pascarelli

Laptop Management - Students need to be careful when transporting laptops. They need to either hold the laptops with two hands or store them in books bags.

Coaches Schedules/Responsibilities- The technology coach has a plethora of responsibities. The coach provides PD's, assists with maintenance of computers, and create with administrators technology usage policies.

Providing PD for Your Staff / ProTraxx - The coach can provide both one on one PD's and also group PD's. The PD's should align with the ISTE standards and subject specific NYS Learning standards. They should focus on how to integrate technology with differentiated instruction.

Student Support Teams - Schools should utilize students to assist with technology initiatives. A good idea would be to implement a MouseSquad. The MouseSquad can assist teachers with hardware issues and teach them how to use the technology in the classroom.

Families: Informing about 21st Century Schools and Cyber Safety - We need to keep students and family members aware of the technology in the classroom and how to use it safely.

Evaluating Classroom Instruction - We can evaluate classroom instruction using rubrics and provide PD to integrate Web 2.0 programming.

Planning for Technology-Infused Instruction - Technology planning requires a team approach in which teachers, coaches, and administrators partner to discuss best practices.

School Transformation Toolkit- The toolkit is a great way to promote professional development with teachers. It provides practical activities to help out in the classroom.

Sharing Documents - We use GOOGLE docs to share information. This includes Documents for sharing written materials and calendars to share important dates between staff.

Final Reflections- We will continue to roll out new professional developments for our teachers. Teachers will receive training on Smartboards. They will receive training on specific online software including Destination Math and eChalk. Our goal will be to not only meet, but exceed technology integration requirements in the classroom.
